Labor Day Sept. 3  - Santa Ana River Trail

CVLabor 03lrWe had a group of 20 riders on the Labor Day Ride at 7 AM this morning and a great time was had by all...As expected the trail was pretty busy even that early... however the pace was kept at between 18-20 mph for the whole "side by side" "conversation pace" trip to the beach...safety and river trail courtesy were an emphasis and it is fair to say that this may have been one of the most enjoyable rides on the trail a number of the riders can remember...

CVLabor 01lra decision was made to stop at the first bathroom on the Huntington Beach side of the river and discuss ride options at that point...riding along the beach trail was ruled out due to high traffic concerns...

someone suggested that it might be wiser to ride through Back Bay and follow the regular Sunday Ride route to minimize safety issues given the amount of traffic we expected to encounter on our trip back up the trail...so we held a short "stakeholder" meeting at the rest room and the consensus was that we would modify the "advertised" route to the normal Sunday Ride Route...

CVLabor 06lrAll the Boys and Girl (1) on the ride behaved and the "Civil" nature of the ride continued back to Villa Park where a few riders stopped at "Bagel Me" and for a number of riders who then headed back to Knowlwoods where approximately 8 -10 riders had a very enjoyable breakfast and swapped stories and wisdom for over an hour... the weather was great as was the company !!
