Canyon Velo has a long tradition as a respected Southern California cycling club. Numerous club members have competed in local, state, and national competitions since the club was formed in 1985 and a number have subsequently become state and national champions. Members come from all around the Orange County area and include a number from outside the county as well. Many are from the North Orange County area, and the club name references our proximity to the Santa Ana Canyon area of Yorba Linda and Anaheim Hills. We are an official USCF affiliated bicycle club and co-sponsor the Roger Millikan Memorial Bicycle Race in Brea annually. We also have a strong presence in the annual Diabetes Association Tour de Cure bicycle ride out of Long Beach each year.

The club is primarily made up of serious “weekend warrior cycling enthusiasts” as well as “competitive racers.” The club focus is on serious road training rides but we also pride ourselves on being a group that is civil and always eager to welcome new members into the fold. We have two “official” rides each weekend, and a number of members make arrangements to organize informal training rides other days of the week. While most members are primarily road riders, there are also mountain bikers amongst us. If you are interested joining a fast, competitive, and friendly cycling group, Canyon Velo could be the club for you.

Please feel free to take a few minutes to look through our website. The four buttons on the right side of the toolbar will allow you to access our picture, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts. The “About” button opens access to club ride and membership information. The “News” button provides access to race summaries and race results. The “As the Wheels Spin” option includes information and summaries encompassing various club activities or issues. If you are interested or have questions please get in touch by using the “Contact” button on the toolbar. Regardless, be safe and enjoy riding!
